The picture above clearly shows the length of the longhouse at Laidhay (105 feet). The internal divisions of the croft building are shown as you hover over each area beneath the picture, and you can then click these to come in and see inside the museum.
The Laidhay croft house incorporates both stable and byre. In the earliest arrangement, the family and their animals would enter by the same door (the scullery door - above) and there was generally little or no permanent division between their living quarters. The exterior door leading into the byre was inserted into the building around 1910.
